The
Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP) Partnership has
recently released for public review the following guidance
document: Draft Principles for the Assessment of Livestock Impacts on
Biodiversity.
Stakeholders are
invited to provide comments by filling in this
template and to submit the compiled form before 15 September
2015 to livestock-partnership@fao.org
A major outcome of this work is the identification of complementarity between the fast-developing area of Life Cycle Assessment for biodiversity, and the well-established Pressure-State-Response indicator framework for assessing environmental impact. We discuss these different approaches and their application to livestock systems, with reference to specific examples of indicators, and with reference to several Case Studies presented as part of this work.
